Required Maintenance Services

The services below are described in detail in the Service Detail Reference Guide.  There are also additional maintenance requirements specific to individual vehicles. We recommend that you also perform Owner Maintenance Checks.  These services are matters of day-to-day care that are also important to the proper operation of your vehicle.

Maintenance Service #1

• Engine oil and filter service

• 10 point inspection

Maintenance Service #2

• Engine oil and filter service

• 10 point inspection

• Rotate tires

Maintenance Service #3

• Engine oil and filter service

• 10 point inspection

• Brake inspection

• Rotate tires

• Replace cabin/pollen air filter (if equipped)

• Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake lines and hoses and parking brake system

• Lubricate door rubber weather-strips

• Lubricate all hinges, latches and key locks

• Clean battery terminals

• Replace "green" engine coolant every 60,000 km

• Inspect steering lineage, suspension and if equipped, drive shaft and ball joints

Maintenance Service #4

• Engine oil and filter service

• 10 point inspection

• Rotate tires

• Replace engine air, crank case and fuel filters

• Inspect platinum spark plugs every 50,000 km*

• Replace non-platinum spark plugs every 50,000 km

• Replace platinum spark plugs every 100,000 km

• Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Service

• Replace PCV valve at 100,000 km intervals

• Replace rear axle lubricant every 250,000 km

• Replace "orange" engine coolant every 250,000 km

Keep you truck running smoothly wth regular maintencance.YOUR DRIVING HABITS WILL DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM MAINTENANCE INTERVAL FOR YOUR VEHICLE. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES:

Follow a 10,000 km/6 month maintenance interval if none of the following conditions apply:
• you tow a trailer or use a camper or car-top carrier
• most trips include extensive idling (such as frequent driving in stop and go traffic)
• the vehicle is used for delivery service, police, taxi or other commercial application
• you operate in dusty conditions such as unpaved or dusty roads
• you operate off-road

Follow a 5,000 km/3 month maintenance interval if any of the above conditions apply.

Vehicle Maintenance Monitor
If your vehicle is equipped with a Vehicle Maintenance Monitor (VMM), change oil and filter when indicated by VMM, but do not go beyond 6 months. These service bundles apply to vehicles 1996 and newer.For vehicles 1995 and prior follow the 5,000 km/3 months maintenance interval.
